Ward Whites
I have always been around or playing sports since I was born. My Dad Gary Whites has coached High School Football for over 50 years. As a little kid, I was always at the field house with him. As I got into high school I was fortunate enough to have him as my Coach. I went to Texas Tech where I played football. After graduation, I headed to Tarleton State University and Coached for the Texans for 8 years. After that, I found myself in radio and quickly fell I love with broadcasting and have done it for the past 17 years.
I have done various jobs in radio as most of us have, but my passion is doing play-by-play and sports talk. High School Sports is my absolute favorite along with College. Don’t get me wrong – I like the NFL, MLB, and NBA as well just not as much as high school and college. There is just something about the pageantry and the relationships built that brings it to the front of the line.
For fun, I am probably watching game film of some sort because I’m still an x’s and o’s guy. I have one son, Blaze, who is a recent Graduate of Texas Tech. I feel very blessed that I am here and have this opportunity in Central Texas working with a great group of guys.
