Jacob Bumpas
Jacob Bumpas joins ESPN Central Texas with a deep-rooted passion for sports broadcasting and a proven track record in radio. A proud East Texas native from Tyler and recent graduate of East Texas Baptist University, Jacob brings five years of on-air experience in sports radio and play-by-play announcing.Throughout his collegiate career, Jacob served as a play-by-play voice for ETBU Athletics, calling a plethora of games across every sport that ETBU had to offer. He also spent four years covering high school athletics across Harrison County, quickly becoming a trusted voice in East Texas sports.
Jacob is a recipient of the prestigious Belo Scholarship from the Texas Association of Broadcasters, and his storytelling earned statewide recognition when he received the Texas Broadcast News Award for Best Story/Series for his high school football feature, Friday Night Lights Look Around the County.
Known for his preparation, authenticity, and dedication to highlighting athletes’ stories, Jacob is excited to bring his energy and expertise to Central Texas. He is committed to covering each team with integrity and making every show and broadcast memorable for fans across the region.

Glenn “Stretch” Smith
Glenn “Stretch” Smith joins ESPN Central Texas with a diverse background in football and broadcasting, bringing firsthand experience from the highest level of the sport. Stretch began his professional career in the National Football League (NFL), where he served as an offensive assistant for the Dallas Cowboys from 2000 to 2001, gaining valuable insight into the game at an elite level.
Following his time in the NFL, Stretch transitioned into sports media, contributing to the growth and success of sports talk programming while becoming a familiar voice to listeners across Texas.
Throughout his broadcasting career, Stretch has been known for his informed perspective, engaging delivery, and ability to connect with audiences. His background in coaching adds a unique layer of analysis, allowing him to break down the game with clarity and credibility.
Stretch is excited to bring his experience and passion for sports to Central Texas, where he is committed to delivering insightful coverage and creating a strong connection with fans across the region.
